SAFE OUTDOOR PLAY – EPDM TILES
We all loved to play outdoors as children. Most of us played on swings, monkey bars or the odd carpet hanger. Today, playgrounds for children have evolved: toys are better adapted to the needs of children and young people, and those who manage playgrounds pay more attention to their safety. More and more playgrounds are equipped with safe surfaces such as rubber tiles.
Specification of EPDM Tiles
EPDM tiles meet strict safety standards. They have an elastic surface and break any falls very well. Children playing on rubber tiles are much less likely to suffer from abrasions and injuries. In addition, the tiles have a non-slip surface. This allows the children to play in the playground even after rainfall. For the same reason, they are often used near swimming pools and other water attractions for children instead of traditional tiles. The rubber tiles are available in 24 RAL colours. So you can create an attractive, colourful, but not kitschy playground for children. The variety of colours makes it possible to design the playground surface to fit well with the environment.
Tile durability
The EPDM rubber tiles are the best choice for outdoor playgrounds as they are highly durable. First, they are very resistant to paint abrasion, so they also perform very well in popular and frequently used playgrounds. They are also resistant to UV radiation and ozone, so they will not be discoloured by the sun. The tiles are resistant even to the extreme temperatures in Poland – they do not lose their flexibility or aesthetic appeal. The EPDM tiles are very easy to install and can also be combined with SBR tiles. Manufacturers also offer surface finishes such as corner edgings as well as thresholds. Depending on the required critical fall height (HIC), customers can purchase the tiles in different thickness variants.
